Pastor J. David Jones was born in Mobile, Alabama, on November 12, 1953. He was raised in church attending Meadowlake Baptist Church in south Mobile County.
Pastor Jones was saved at the age of thirteen on January 29, 1967, and baptized on February 5th, 1967 in the same church. While attending a youth camp in August of 1967, Pastor Jones surrendered to the Lord’s calling to preach the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
Attending Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri he earned a degree in Theology. He later attended Great Plains Baptist College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he earned his Bachelor of Theology, Masters of Divinity, and Doctorate of Ministry Degrees. Pastor Jones began his formal training in 1972 and entered fulltime church work in 1979.
Pastor Jones has been used of the Lord to re-establish three churches that were on the verge of failure in Texas and North Dakota. Opportunity also presented itself to start a church in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
Pastor Jones has had the opportunity to serve in the military as an Army Chaplain from 1987 until 2000. Upon occasion, he has provided chaplain services to prisons and jail facilities in several cities in which he has lived. He currently is Pastor of Dakota Baptist Church since 1993.
